There are few things about summer that I love more than my extended time. I finished this one in about two days, nonstop. My shoulder kills and I regret being lazy with some parts, but I like how this one came out.
This is actually the first pic that I've colored that has an actual full-fledged background. I gotta say...it makes a difference in effort and in quality.
I'm still a bit sketpical about the color of the sky, i had gone through many shades when I was just like, "screw this! you shall be gray!"
I also didn't really like how the fin came out...I had absolutly no idea how to do fins and I tried imitating fish fins the best I could but it just looked more and more messy... so i came up with this 2nd grader type thing xP
I was actually inspired by the other koi mermaids around DA, so it wasn't an original idea, but she is a little different than the others.
I had my friend critisize this for me, but i'm also asking you fellow artists for any critisizms you might bear, i would really love to hear them.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
