On the 26th of January is Chinese New Year! Now I am not Chinese, but despite popular belief, chinese new year is celebrated by other asians also like the japanese and vietnamese (that's me).
And yes I figure this is sort of early, but I wanted to get this card to my distant family in Texas ASAP.  I also made my first speed paint for this picture! It's in bad quality, but if you wanna check it out click here ---> [link] Anyways, it's the year of the ox, so of course my little chibi has ox horns and a tail. The symbols on the side say "Happy New Year" in Chinese, the right is Vietnamese, and of course, the top is English! I'm so excited for Chinese New Year!  mainly because of the little envalopes of money old people give to you just for wishing them a new year, but also because it gives me a chance to act "white-washed" amongst my fellow asians.  |
